James is the Group Manager – Native Title of Environmental and Licensing Professionals Pty Ltd. James is highly experienced in the fields of native title and cultural heritage, having been employed in senior Government positions where he negotiated a number of consent determinations of native title, Indigenous Land Use Agreements and a number of the early native title agreements in mining for Queensland.
James has over 25 years experience gained in senior government positions as well as private consulting.
He has strong skills and experience in the fields of native title and cultural heritage advice, negotiation and consultation, exploration and mining tenement licensing, land access as well as interpretation and application of legislation.
James has strong experience in alternative dispute resolution and other mediation techniques including those developed by indigenous organisations. He has worked closely with indigenous groups as well as resource companies and legal firms.
He has a comprehensive understanding of the native title process.
